Manager, Anti-Aging & Skin Tone Management Applied Research, Research & Innovation at L'Oreal in Clark, NJ
We are looking for an entrepreneurial people & program leader to serve as a Manager to create & deliver innovative Skin Care formulations dedicated to Anti-aging and Skin Tone benefits. This position is based out of our Clark, New Jersey facility. You Will . . . Build, plan, lead a portfolio of Skin Care innovation projects, through a multidisciplinary project team with upstream/downstream partners in R&I, Operations, Marketing, in order to deliver a pipeline of innovative products onto the market focusing on the unmet needs of our US champion consumers. Partner with internal experts in Consumer & Market Insights, Product Evaluation teams, and scientists in US and around the world to build disruptive, life changing solutions which meet our Champion Consumers' key unmet needs. Seek & apply novel solutions through Open Innovation, strategic suppliers, and upstream L'Oreal research teams, develop project plans and work through a multi-disciplinary project team to effectively to transform these opportunities into tangible prototype solutions. Lead the US Skin Age Management and Skin Tone Management Application Domains, to deliver their projects, as well as provide technical direction & guidance on key local/global projects, leveraging your technical expertise, project management skills, people leadership skills, and experience. Strengthen the capabilities of the team - recruit, mentor, and effectively manage the team of BS, MS and PhD scientists; establishing their annual objectives, career development plans, and providing performance evaluation on a periodic basis. Provide recommendations to HR for job assignment planning, promotion readiness and recruitment needs for your team. Ensure the industrial protection of discoveries and optimize the portfolio of patents for your activity You Have . . . A PhD in Physical Science or Bioscience (Chemistry, Engineering, Material Science, BioPhysics, Biology) and a minimum of 7
years of industrial experience in the Cosmetic/Personal Care Industry or Pharmaceutical Industry with demonstrated knowledge and experience in broad based Skin Care formulations, the Physico-chemical principles required to deliver performance of such formulations, with knowledge in skin care cosmetic active ingredients, emulsion science, polymers, material science Mastery in technical and scientific principles for cosmetic formulations Excellent knowledge of competition (strategy, patents & performance) and consumer needs High problem solving skills and ability to propose innovative technical solutions Clear strength in leading teams (both direct reporting & indirect reporting) & developing team members Proven track record in technically driving complex & challenging projects toward delivery of tangible solutions Authorization to work in the US on a permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
